Ipswich 90 has been acquired by the Ipswich Bus Preservation Group, Check back here or our Facebook page for details of its future with our group.

90 was new in 2000 and was one of eleven "long" Darts purchased new to replace Double Deckers in the Ipswich Fleet, ie the loyal Leyland Atlanteans.

These were 89-99 (X89/901/91/92/93/94/195/96/97/98/199 LBJ)

When new these were allocated to what the Atlanteans came off, ie the 5/7 and the 11/15. The 5/11 to the Heath Road Hospital corridor and 7/15 the Thorington Park corridor areas of Ipswich. Even from day one they strayed off these routes and ended up on Service 13 to Pinewood etc.

When new in the Cream and Green livery 90 carried the name "Cedric" Although after being repainted into the White and Green livery as seen below, the month after 90 was named "H.N. Jimmy James" at the Ipswich Transport Museum after the founder of the Ipswich Transport Society. This name previously belonging to Delta 183.

IBPG 90 a few years ago in the snow/cold

Ipswich withdrew 90 from its fleet on MOT expiry in early November and was swiftly snapped up by the Ipswich Bus Preservation Group for option for preservation.
IBPG became owners of 90 on the 27th November 2015.

In March, MOT work commenced and an MOT certifciate gained, so expect to see 90 around the rally season (or just Ipswich area!) in 2016!

More information and pictures will appear here, but as you can understand time is taken up by looking after our vehicles.
